Season runs from weekend of 29 April 2023 to 2 September 2023.
Games are played at parks around the Hutt Valley.
We usually have two teams in U11 and two teams in U12 that play in a Wellington Regional League with games around the wider Wellington region. Fixtures are organised by Capital Football and published on their website.
For U9/U10, teams of around 9-10 are put together for the season and games are played with 7 on each side.
For U11/U12, teams of around 12-13 are put together for the season and games are played with 9 on each side.

2023 preseason programme for Mini Football
The club will host junior preseason training sessions (open to all of those from U9-U12 who are registered/registering for the upcoming season). These sessions, which will be developed and designed by the club’s Director of Football and Junior and Youth Development Officers, and will include a mixture of skills sessions, small-sided games and larger-field games.
More details on the specific dates and times will be published on the club website in mid-February and shared by grade managers with those who are registered or who have played in that grade previously.
From 2022 Capital Football has expanded the scope for age-based dispensations by allowing more flexibility for clubs to allow kids play up or down ½ a grade based on a number of factors. If you are considering applying for a dispensation for your child, please contact your grade manager in the first instance.
Check out the Capital Football Junior Regulations.
We supply the playing strips (tops or shirts) each morning and collect them back in at the end of the morning.
Players will need shin pads, boots, shorts and socks, Official UHCF socks and shorts can be purchased via footballcentral.co.nz.
There are a few tournaments throughout the season where we put forward teams from each grade. Tournaments are generally played on Sundays during the season and maybe a Saturday or Sunday when the season ends. Ask your coach or grade manager for more info.
We have a number of parents and whanau volunteer each season to act as coaches or managers to look after a team throughout the season – and we’re always to keen to find some more. The role is far more about children than football. There’s a ready-made toolkit to work with and we always love coaches who are keen to let the kids’ imagination go crazy. Please let your grade manager know if you’re keen.
Each grade has a parent Facebook group that is managed by the grade manager. Also stay up to date with the latest on our club Facebook page.
