This year marks the 31st anniversary of the event, designed to assist teams in the lower North Island with their preparations for the National Youth Tournament in Napier at Labour Weekend.
I would like to take this opportunity to welcome players, coaches, managers and supporters of all teams and wish you a successful weekend of football. As always, we expect some very competitive matches with the added spice of clubs renewing old rivalries with passion and commitment. This is what football is all about and we trust all participants will respect the laws of the game and ensure the matches are played in good spirits.
I would also like to make special mention of our referees this weekend; we are very grateful to them for contributing their time, and I urge everyone to treat the officials with the respect they deserve.
