Girls’ Only Festival, Saturday 7 September 2013

  • Post category:Women

This year during Girls and Women’s week Capital Football will be holding another girls only festival at Nairnville, similar to the one held last year. The festival last year was a huge success with over 100 girls enjoying a fun festival, trying out their skills against the other ‘development’ squads.

This year the festival will be very special, as it is also going to be used as a Memorial Day for Des Vincent-Dustow, who sadly passed away a couple of days after the festival last year. Des was a huge advocate for Women’s football and put in a massive amount of time and effort into supporting the girls development, many of you would have seen him around the fields and chatted to him about ‘his girls’.

Once again there will be Football Ferns in attendance to help make the day extra special with prizes on offer. The way the day will work is as follows, with the festival running at a 5v5 format.

11am-1.30pm Junior festival (ages 9-14) – 5v5

1.30pm-2pm Lunch

2pm-4pm Memorial Game (Senior Nokouts v Coaches)

4pm – 5pm Memorial

There will be a sausage sizzle on throughout the day also.
