Gear

We supply the playing strips (tops or shirts) each morning and collect them back in at the end of the morning.

You’ll need shin pads, boots and UHCF socks available at Maidstone Sports, in The Mall, Upper Hutt or via footballcentral.co.nz.

Which team?

We aim to get all players into a team that they are comfortable in so that they can enjoy and develop their football skills and have fun.

Premier league teams – Players can trial to be part of the two top teams in each grade. Premier League teams are essentially our first and second teams in each grade that play with teams from the wider Wellington region. Players in these teams are expected to commit to two training sessions per week during the winter season and commit to their team by being available on game days (usually Saturday mornings) throughout the season. These teams often compete in tournaments and this comes with further commitments of travel, time, training and often entry costs over and above any club contributions.

Hutt Valley competition teams – Non-premier league teams play in the Hutt Valley competition and usually train once a week and have games once a week throughout winter. We will enter between 4 – 8 teams per grade into these leagues. Registrations in each grade will determine the final number of teams in each grade.

Tournaments

There are a few tournaments throughout the season where we create combined teams of players that are usually put forward by each team coach and the grade manager. Ask your coach for more info. Tournaments are played on Sundays during a the season and maybe a Saturday or Sunday when the season ends.

Parent coaches

We have a number of parents volunteer each season to act as coaches to look after a team throughout the season– and we’re always to keen to find some more. The role is far more about children than football. There’s a ready-made toolkit to work with and we always love coaches who are keen to let the kids’ imagination go crazy. Everyone coaching is often a parent of a 9-12th grader. Please let us know if you’re keen.

Cancellations

Cancellations will be made by Capital Football not later than first thing Saturday morning. You can always check the latest on their junior competition fixtures page.

Latest news

Each grade has a parent Facebook group that is managed by the grade manager.  Also stay up with the latest on our club Facebook page.
